Advice & Advocacy

Elays Advice & Advocacy has helped many people from diverse backgrounds with a variety of issues from housing, benefits, education, finance, health, immigration, social services, and crime. Our services seek to ensure that people, particularly those who are most vulnerable in society, are able to:

  • Have their voice heard on issues that are important to them,

  • Defend and safeguard their rights

  • Have their views and wishes, considered when decisions are being made about their lives.

We also run parenting workshops that specifically deal with issues such as youth crime, education, social services, and positive parenting over 6 weeks, with many families participating in these programmes.

In addition, we do parent and youth workshops throughout the year addressing everyday issues that people face. These are run by a professional family life coach who explores the parent-child relationship and dynamics. These projects are normally advertised on our website and social platforms ahead of events.

Advocacy Services

The aim is to ensure the disadvantaged members of our local community are able to access information, advice, and support to become an integral and supportive faction of our society and become outstanding citizens.

The language barrier and lack of knowledge of the system have led to members of the community failing to seek help and advice about many aspects of life. The advocacy project attends to a wide range of enquiries including housing, benefits, education, debt problems, family social service, immigration, hate crime advice and support. We are the first stop for all enquiries.
